Being “just” a web designer used to be enough, but these days customers want a all-in-one package. If you’re a web designer, this means upping your game (and your own skill set!). For the Adobe blog, I was recently asked what add-on service I would recommend, and it’s no surprise I went with on-page search engine optimization (SEO). It’s just as critical as link building and the design of your site. It’s a must-have element that every website needs, and if you offer it then your customers don’t have to look elsewhere.

Other ideas include content writing services and web hosting. Web hosting is especially easy, particularly reseller hosting, and is a painless way to offer more without doing much additional work. Content writing is a lot more demanding, and if you’re not a writer yourself then you can keep a “stable” of writers to work for you.

There’s also newsletter setup and design as well as advertising setup and design. A lot of people 1) don’t know how to do this or 2) don’t have time to do it. Putting together a starter package is a great idea to up your profits as well as customer loyalty.
